Yesterday my family and I participated in a local 5K run that celebrates and supports breast cancer patients and survivors organized by the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation. It was a small race and our first time attending. It was exciting to me because we were doing it as a family and it is for a cause that is now close and personal to our family.

It was James’ first time to run at Quarry Lakes and it was fun for us to take turns pushing our BOB double stroller.

Roger had a great time — though he only ran at the start and the end portion and spent most of the 3 miles in the stroller with his sister. James and Roger had their matching outfits on, and crossed the finish line together. Roger told his dad that he didn’t really like all the people cheering him on, as it made him shy and self-conscious.
