Sometimes we need a little extra fitness inspiration when we are feeling a bit deflated. Recently my husband decided that he wanted to lose a little weight so he followed my lead and started tracking his food. I started a month before him but a month later he has surpassed my weight loss, even when you calculate the weight based on percentage of body weight. He seems to have lost most of it in his gut, whereas I still look a little bit thick in the belly or slightly pregnant! There is nothing like a little bit of failure to send me into a frenzy.
So one of my fitness goals is to be able to do pull-ups and chin-up, basically being able to pull my own body weight. I have been thinking Linda Hamilton as Sara Connor in Terminator 2 (1991) when I was doing the assisted pull-ups on the machine:
Then I got to thinking about some movies that feature women working out, like:
Demi Moore in G.I. Jane (1997): Considering that the Navy Seal may be allowing women into its ranks soon, I might have to watch this movie again. It has been a while!
Uma Thurman in Kill Bill (2003)
Sometimes seeing real life athletes in action, whether in movie or actual events can be inspirational. Like:
Gina Carano in Haywire
Rhonda Rousey in Fast & Furious 7
